Now, as to why saying that good ideas come from our mind would only be partially right, we would have to examine the most common way a good idea is born.
For the majority of people, good ideas do not just suddenly appear inside someone's head. Instead, studies have proven that most great ideas are created through social interaction, with scientists being used as an example.
Scientists Discussing with One Another |
Leading research laboratories report how rare it is for a single scientist to have a ground breaking idea or an epiphany by themselves (Marsden, 2019).
From this information, we can conclude that our mind is not necessarily the greatest at creating a good idea, but rather building upon existing ideas and connecting new components to construct a new and good idea.
These existing ideas can also come in the form of products which will lay the basis for the new ideas to come (Marsden, 2019).

How to generate more good ideas?
Meditation
Numerous studies have shown that meditation is one of the best ways to help in generating good ideas. This is due to the fact that meditation practices, such as mindfulness, can help enhance focus, relief stress, and cultivate an open-minded as well as flexible mental state which contribute to increased creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. For instance, meditation can increase cognitive flexibility, allowing people to approach problems from different perspectives and create new connections between ideas. Apart from that, those who meditate regularly may find it easier to concentrate on their work and more innovative creations which lead to more efficient and high-quality production of work.
